Ronald Bruce Monroe, who frequented early discos such as The
Loft in the late 1970s and then Paradise Garage in the 1980s, created intimate
mixed-media boxes that contain ephemera, simple shapes, moving lights, and
found objects representing the exteriors and interiors of these no longer
extant clubs.
