HIV Counseling

Peer to peer counseling is an effective method for encouraging behavior changes in youth. The LIFESIGNS counselors meet with selected volunteer youth who undergo extensive HIV training. After the one month training, each participant receives a certificate and they are encouraged to continue the LIFESIGNS project by inviting more youth to join the LIFESIGNS anti-AIDS club.

We include in our training practical life skills exercises such as: communication building between partners and parent and child, relationship role-playing, sex education and how to buy and use condoms. In cooperation with local authorities and DKT (a local NGO), LIFESIGNS was supplied with informative written information to assist us in our training sesssions.
