John Charles Weatherford was born July 19, 1948 and died December 4, 1989 in Denver, Colorado. John began drawing cartoons at a very early age, particularly on the basement of his home. John moved to San Francisco in 1975 and studied at the Academy of Art until 1981. He was an assistant to the Director of Illustration, Barbara Bradley, while he studied at the school. He moved back to Denver in 1981 where he worked as an illustrator.
